Did you celebrate St Patrick's Day? Are you a plastic paddy?
The real irony of it all is that St Patrick was a Roman Priest sent to the Ireland outpost for Roman Catholics. And his mission, of course, to convert 'pagans' into Christians and hense forth banishing the serpents from Ireland. Made a national holiday, to raise support for the cause and unified a nation under the Church. Job completed. In that though, he eradicated most of Ireland's heritage, that being the gaelic, celltic culture. (Way to go, christianity, you really know how to respect other people's culture and beliefs.) So, Patrick is the Anti-Irish Roman patron Catholic saint of culture banishment - that Ireland celebrates. As weird as northern europeans being christians - not your heritage - you're probably Nordic or something. <>
