Why did paddy have his haircut on emmerdale?

Dominic Brunt who plays Paddy has had a bald patch on the back of his head for years, that has been getting bigger and bigger since he started Emmerdale with a full head of hair, he's had to use this fake-spray hair thing so it doesn't look stupid, the rest was his actual hair but he's had to cover up the bald spot for a while. He decided that he didn't want to hide his bald spot anymore and shaved his hair off, if you look now you can see that he has a bald patch in the middle of his head, and then where he's cut his hair all round.
