my mom is 55 years old and she does smoke, she has smoked since she was 15 years old. She is going on a medication to stop smoking next week. She has been having some lower back pain every once in a while and so she went to the dr. and the dr. got an x-ray of her back and it showed osteoarthritis. She went into the dr. and got blood tests on Monday and they called today and they said her sugar was high, her cholesteral was hig andher white blood cell count was 1500. She is going into the doctor nex week to get more tests done to see if theres anything wrong or not. Wat could this be? She doesnt have the best diet in the world, she drinks pepsi daily, she has starbucks once a week, and she doesnt eat much uring the day otherthan one meal a day and a snack here and there. coud she have diabetes? It runs in the family. Her sister has stage 4 bone cancer, and has had it for a couple years now. they found her cancer by doing a back x-ray and they thought she had osteoarthritis in her back but after more testing and a surgry on her back they found she hadbone caner and not osteoarthritis. Im so scared right now that she could have the same cancer as my aunt or if she has some other type of cancer. Please help me out here! Im 16 and thats the last thing i want is for my mom to have cancer. Cancer does not run in my family.
