I am an Irish-American and I'm sick of the Plastic Paddy Stereotype?

Seriously. I'm not even a first generation, to be honest I'm 4th/3rd if not more, I've done my homework and there is nothing but Irish blood in me. Now, I can understand the "Ugly American" view, believe you and me every time I watch the news I see another bullshit foreign policy decision that makes my blood boil; but regardless, why all the hate? I mean I know Irish People and Irish-Americans are two different groups but aside from a select few I get nothing but **** from Irish People about my heritage. Why?
