Why do the popular kids pretend to be my friend?

Some of the popular kids at school turn around uring lessons and ask if I wanna come round to theirs tonight, I ignore them or make some sort of excuse up but it really annoys me (also I'm not unpopular either!) why do they do it and think it so funny?
